In a way, these photos bring back some memories. Used to work at the Record-Bee and part of my duties at night was to check the press when the Lake-Mendo papers were going through. Was pretty fun to see how it worked, even though the LCRB press was literally being held together with baling wire. Haha.
It really has been a pleasure to work at a paper with a press. Today (Aug. 1, 2012) is the first time in 150 years that there has been no press printing news in Grays Harbor County. We really are losing a piece of history. I feel lucky to have experienced it.
